The Keynote Speaker at this upscale event will feature Scott Barretta on “The Musical World of Bud Scott.” Scott is a Lecturer in Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Mississippi, the former editor of Living Blues magazine, the host of the Highway 61 radio show on Mississippi Public Broadcasting, a writer and researcher for the Mississippi Blues Trail, and the recipient 2016 Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts for his work in documenting Mississippi blues traditions. This January 26, 2027 event is followed by the May 8, 2027 “An Evening of Natchez Favorite Musician Bud Scott” presented by the Natchez Festival of Music in collaboration with the Natchez Historical Society.
