Legends Celebration 2023 Concert – A Musical Tribute for Juneteenth

Mayor Dan Gibson and the City of Natchez will host the Legends Celebration 2023 Concert as a musical tribute to Black History Month at 6:30pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Natchez City Auditorium at 207 Jefferson St.

The entertainers will represent a wide range of Mississippi music including gospel, blues, R&B and jazz with performances by:
Dorothy Moore
YZ Ealey
Alvin Youngblood
Alvin Shelby and the Legends Celebration Choir
Ora Reed
and more!
Honorees include:

Bud Scott
Walter Barnes
The Williams Brothers Gospel
Cassandra Wilson
Hound Dog Taylor & The House Rockers
Daisy Newman
Larry Brown
Elizabeth Taylor Greenfield
A special tribute will also be made to victims of the Rhythm Night Club fire tragedy of 1940. Walter Barnes and The Royal Creolians who were the band for the tragic evening will be honored as well.

This program will present a program honoring and featuring many entertainers of legendary status from our region. Past and present. It will cover genres and artists of several areas. Presented in awards show type format with video reels.
It’s entertainment plus history!
Culminating with a performance from the fantastic Dorothy Moore it will be a presentation for all ages!
