Artist Conner Burns hosts Annual Art Event at his studio November 29, 2025.
1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Natchez, Mississippi artist, Conner Burns, invites the community to his private studio once a year to celebrate at his Annual Open House and Studio Sale. This year he also adds a special guest artist – Max Mullins. Mullins, a painter and photographer, recently returned to Natchez. He was a guest artist at this event a decade ago – and he is back again … for the Open House and to live.
Traditionally the Open House is held the Saturday after Thanksgiving; which is Saturday, November 29th from 1:00pm until 7:00pm at his studio at 209-B Franklin street. Burns will open his studio to the public and give tours, have an assortment of good food (that his mother and aunts are famous for) and will have artwork displayed and available for purchase. Mullins will also be present with his artwork. There is always new artwork, but it is also a great opportunity to see the studio in which it is made. The studio continues to develop – come see what has changed.
Burns has hosted his Annual Open House since 1999; making this the 26th annual event … moving into another quarter of a century. This event attracts both local and regional art lovers to Natchez for the weekend. Each year Burns opens his facilities to the public and allows them to see what goes on inside his studio.
Burns works with clay using natural materials and shapes that are subtle in both color and texture. Organic fluidity is his intention – such that each piece looks as if it ‘grew that way’ rather than being made. Burns makes vessels (cups, bowls, teapots, vases etc) as well as sculptural items. In addition to making his artwork and operating his gallery, Burns teaches workshops across the nation to both professional and amateur artists. His work has been featured in books about teapots, bowls, glazes, cups and pitchers and has received awards from galleries, art festivals, art associations and national clay organizations. Burns’ work has been exhibited widely and is in collections across Europe, Asia and the United States.
Conner Burns Studio is located at 209-B Franklin Street in downtown Natchez and is open by appointment. For additional information: please visit visit www.connerburns.com
