24th Annual Artist Open House by Conner Burns
209 Franklin Street
Natchez MS, 39120
Date: November 25, 2023
Time: 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Natchez, Mississippi artist, Conner Burns, invites the community to his private studio once a year to celebrate at his Annual Open House and Studio Sale. Traditionally held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, it will be held on Saturday, November 25th from 1:00pm until 7:00pm at his studio at 209 Franklin Street. Burns will open his studio to the public and give tours, have an assortment of good food (that his mother and aunts are famous for) and will have artwork displayed and available for purchase. There is always new artwork, but it is also a great opportunity to see the studio in which it is made. The studio continues to develop – come see what has changed.
Burns has hosted the annual art event since 1999; making this the 24th annual event. This event attracts both local and regional art lovers to Natchez for the weekend. Each year Burns opens his facilities to the public and allows them to see what goes on inside his studio.
Burns works with clay using natural materials and shapes that are subtle in both color and texture. Organic fluidity is his intention – such that each piece looks as if it ‘grew that way’ rather than being made. Burns makes vessels (cups, bowls, teapots, vases etc) as well as sculptural items. In addition to making his artwork and operating his gallery, Burns teaches workshops across the nation to both professional and amateur artists. His work has been featured in books about teapots, bowls, glazes, cups and pitchers and has received awards from galleries, art festivals, art associations and national clay organizations. Burns’ work has been exhibited widely and is in collections across Europe, Asia and the United States.
Conner Burns Studio is located at 209-B Franklin Street in downtown Natchez and is open by appointment. For additional information: please visit visit www.connerburns.com
