From 6p.m- 7pm, we’ll enjoy a community social hour with complementary house favorites from the 1720 Gallery menu.
At 7pm, Joe will interview Dr. Marshall about her creative process and how she engages art as activism.
At 8pm, we’ll screen Dr. Marshall’s new documentary Before 1619: She Took Justice which documents her journey to Angola to discover the feats of Queen Enzinga, an extraordinary African warrior Queen who fought European invaders in the 1660s and her powerful connection today. It’s going to be an insightful evening filled with conversation, inspiration and community! We can’t wait to see you.
