Geraldine Brooks, Pulitzer Prize winning author, will discuss her novel Horse as part of Natchez Reads 2025. All are invited to attend the free event to hear this bestselling author in conversation about her novel based on the true story of racehorse and sire, Lexington, who, in the 1850s, was trained in Natchez by John Benjamin Pryor on the plantation of Adam L. Bingaman.
Geraldine Brooks’ visit to Natchez and the Natchez Reads 2025 program are sponsored by the Mississippi Book Festival, Historic Natchez Foundation, Judge George W. Armstrong Library, National Park Service, and the City of Natchez.
This event will take place on September 12, 2025 at The Grand Hotel, 111 North Broadway Street, beginning at 6:30 pm.
