Mary Beth Gibson, author of Pryor Knowledge and descendent of John Benjamin Pryor, will discuss her prominent ancestor featured in Geraldine Brooks’ novel Horse on August 26, 2025 beginning at 6:00 pm. Pryor, employed by Natchez plantation owner, Adam L. Bingaman, served as trainer for the racehorse Lexington in the early 1850s. This special discussion is part of Natchez Reads 2025 and all are invited to join in this special community reading program featuring the novel Horse.
This event will take place at Historic Natchez Foundation, 108 South Commerce Street.
