The Natchez area is fortunate to have truly enjoyable weather for nine months of the year. Mild winters allow Natchez to host events during months that would not provide for doing so in other areas of the country. Spring and Fall are, of course, the peak seasons in which to enjoy Natchez and are the times of year that visitors flock to Natchez most. These are the seasons when Spring Pilgrimage and Fall Pilgrimage are held. But, there seems to be something going on here almost every week of every month, regardless of weather. A large number of visitors who come to visit during the winter months, are doing so to escape the bitter cold of lake effect winter seasons in the Northeast and Upper Mississippi River Valley. Natchez prides itself on making every effort to assure that visitors will have a lot to do when they visit here during "off season" months. Please visit take a few minutes to browse through our event calendar and make plans to attend any of Natchez fabulous annual events such as The Great Mississippi River Balloon Race, which takes place the third weekend of October, or perhaps plan to have an "old-fashioned" Christmas at one of our unique bed & breakfast or romantic small inns and enjoy the magical lights of Christmas in Natchez.
